Happy Thanksgiving to you & your family! We are very thankful for your love, prayer, friendship and financial support at Locking Arms. You have been God’s provision to us in so many ways. May our thanksgiving celebrations follow King David’s priorities before our feasting!

“Make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing! Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”  Psalm 100:1-4 ESV

Retreat Summary:

We were making a joyful noise this weekend at Jumonville just like David told us in the psalm above! We had a powerful retreat with nearly 50 men at Jumonville this past weekend. The fellowship was deeply encouraging and highlighted by a transparency from the men which led to real freedom. This prompted men to openly receive God’s word of grace and empowerment in the Holy Spirit. The worship with Stu Hayes and the band was terrific along with our speakers. Jason Wolfe’s personal testimony of overcoming abandonment as a child and reconciliation with his estranged father rocked the house on Friday night. Jon Kolb delivered two challenging messages on our theme of “Overcoming Jericho.”  Rick Wiater gave an insightful message on overcoming “Giants in the Land” and he led our communion service Saturday night. The new friendships forged in a shared sense of our brokenness was great. We had some of our Bridge Mentoring young men as well as a great group of brothers from Homewood. We thank God for all of our leaders, worship team, and speakers who served us. Special thanks to Jason Wolfe and Bill Krahe who sponsored several of our men and to Ed Savolskis who donated our Friday evening buffet meal from his catering company Conrad Catering.
